Because they don't.

I see myself in the mirror and I know who I am. I am a woman who leads. Not only was I born with a fairly strong set of leadership skills, but I honed the ability to lead throughout my formative years and I continue to seek positions of leadership in whatever I do.

I have been striving, for years now, for a MUCH greater understanding of why it is that there seems to be so FEW "women who lead". And, I am not trying to understand this in any great philosophical way. Nor do I need a lecture on the political or socio-economic realities of this human world here on planet Earth. I simply mean, in a society as rich in opportunity as Canada's is, WHY DON'T WOMEN LEAD?

A nice man that I know gave me a 3-word answer: "Because they don't...."

I am not sure if it is that simple, but I have decided to find out what people think on this topic. Tell me what you think - and I'll do the same!!

Because I think women DO lead and I think the women of tomorrow and beyond simply need to learn about all of the different ways in which women lead and all of the different opportunities women can take to lead and perhaps, in a generation (or less!), I won't have to ask the question, anymore. In reality, women WILL lead and will receive awesome recognition for the great contributions to leadership that they make.

I like that thought.
